Thai Chargé d'Affaires ad interim Wu Zhiwu attended the closing ceremony of the 2025 "China Bridge" Thailand Finals.
On July 16, the 18th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students and the 5th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Performance Competition for Primary School Students in Thailand were held in Bangkok. Wu Zhiwu, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, Somdet Thongchai, Deputy Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, and Yousapong, Secretary General of the Vocational Education Commission of the Ministry of Education of Thailand, attended the closing ceremony.
Charge d'Affaires Wu stated that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, and he hoped that Thai youth would learn more about Chinese culture, enhance their understanding of China, and make greater contributions to Sino-Thai friendship. Songthongchai stated that China and Thailand are like brothers, and Thai students proficient in Chinese will have more development opportunities in the future. Yusapong reiterated that the Thai Ministry of Education will continue to support the "Chinese Bridge" competition to promote Chinese language learning and enhance Thai-Chinese friendship.
This year's Chinese language competition was jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Thailand and the Thai Ministry of Education. 204 students from 173 primary and secondary schools in Thailand participated, with 59 students reaching the finals. Jin Yujiao and Chen Huiqian from Meisai Guangming Overseas Chinese Middle School won the championships in the Thai secondary school and primary school groups respectively, and will represent Thailand in the global finals held in China.
